The machine was hired from the exclusive dealer for the Bobcat range in the country’s Mazovia region, Atut Rental, which also provides a construction equipment rental service.

Atut Rental delivered the E32 to site at the request of the contractors – a consortium of Mota Engil and Himmel i Papesch Opole, specialising in engineering, bridge and specialised works. The project they have been working on is the construction of the Miękinia ring road in the Lower Silesia region of Poland, which is a logistically difficult operation, requiring high precision from the contractors.

The project in question is part of the Wroclaw ring road running from Zmigrod to the A4 motorway. Its construction is a logistical challenge, especially the section crossing the busy railway lines from Wroclaw to the western border of Poland. The original plan envisaged the construction of a viaduct running over the tracks, but the cost of this operation would have exceeded the available budget, so it was decided instead to go under the railway embankment.

“This is one of the most complex projects we have ever implemented. Not only the marshy ground, but the continuous railway traffic on the embankment above the works. We have had to keep supporting the excavation and the small space available has also proved difficult,” said Lukasz Protasewicz, Bridge Works Manager at Himmel i Papesch Opole.

He added: “The requirements demanded the use of a machine suitable for work in the very tight confines on site. We do not have small excavators in our machinery fleet, so we needed a compact machine that was able to work in this difficult environment and we needed it on site as soon as possible.

“We decided to rent a machine from Atut Rental and the Bobcat E32 was a great choice – with its compact size, we knew it would work in the space available – it gave us great freedom in this very tight environment.”

Jaroslaw Maciejewski, CEO at Atut Rental, said: “Customers appreciate the rental of Bobcat mini-excavators primarily for their precision, ease of use and performance. These machines are also perfect for work on large construction sites, but are particularly suited for work with powerful tools being used in a small space, such as those on urban sites. At the same time the low weight of the excavators allows for easy transport on a trailer, and thus trouble-free and fast movement of the machines.

“When combined with a wide range of different attachments, Bobcat excavators are versatile, mobile tools that can be used to perform many different jobs. The E32 has the same cab as that used on larger models, so getting in and out is very convenient. Ergonomic controls allow for smooth driving and safe control. At the same time when the foot pedals are not being used they can be moved out of the way, thereby providing more space in the cab for the operator. The frame with its high clearance also prevents the machine from getting stuck, which is another reason it performed so well on the marshy, swampy ground we had on this project.“

The whole operation involved ‘pushing’ a prefabricated reinforced concrete structure with a width of 14.1 m, a length of 9.1 m and a height of 7.4 m under the railway embankment. The Bobcat E32 systematically collected the soil that was removed by a larger excavator positioned outside the excavation area.

All the great attributes of the E32 have been incorporated and further enhanced in the new E34, which has replaced this model as part of the recent introduction of the revolutionary new R-Series range of 2 to 4 tonne mini-excavators from Bobcat.

Available now, the five models in the R-Series – the E26, E27z, E27, E34 and E35z – offer a best-in-class mix of high digging forces, superb stability and smooth controllability of working functions complemented by low weights for easy transportation. Excellent machine fit and finish plus new ground-breaking design features make the new Bobcat R-Series a unique proposition in the marketplace.

For more information about Bobcat and Bobcat products, visit the website www.bobcat.com

A Bobcat E32 excavator has provided the perfect compact solution for work in the tight spaces of an important road

[2

post-1931","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-plant-news
["GET
