{"id":405,"date":"2017-03-10T14:27:14","date_gmt":"2017-03-10T14:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.constructionplantworld.com\/news\/?p=405"},"modified":"2017-03-10T14:27:14","modified_gmt":"2017-03-10T14:27:14","slug":"new-construction-output-fugures-show-fall-in-output","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.constructionplantworld.com\/news\/2017\/03\/new-construction-output-fugures-show-fall-in-output\/","title":{"rendered":"New construction output fugures show fall in output"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commenting on the new construction output figures published by the ONS today which show a fall in output, Michael Thirkettle, Chief Executive of leading interdisciplinary international construction and property consultancy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcbainscooper.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">McBains Cooper<\/a>, said:<br \/>\n\u201cToday\u2019s figures show a real recovery for construction is fragile at best, in a week where the Spring Budget brought news of national insurance rises and loss of tax relief on dividend payments to hit the self-employed in particular, which includes 167,000 construction workers \u2013 people who are vital for ensuring the government\u2019s housebuilding targets are met.<br \/>\n\u201cIn the short to medium term, worries over Brexit remain a constant. We stand to lose a significant number of the 12% of UK construction workers who come from EU countries as a result of Brexit, which means we will be in a parlous situation.
