{"id":825,"date":"2017-08-18T08:34:35","date_gmt":"2017-08-18T07:34:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.constructionplantworld.com\/news\/?p=825"},"modified":"2017-08-17T16:37:24","modified_gmt":"2017-08-17T15:37:24","slug":"jcbs-david-bell-becomes-first-honorary-president-of-cea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.constructionplantworld.com\/news\/2017\/08\/jcbs-david-bell-becomes-first-honorary-president-of-cea\/","title":{"rendered":"JCB\u2019s David Bell becomes first Honorary President of CEA"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-content description \">\n<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecea.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CEA <\/a>(Construction Equipment Association) \u00a0would like to welcome David Bell, director JCB as the trade associations very first\u00a0Honorary President.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>David joined JCB in 1974 as a graduate trainee, following an Engineering apprenticeship at Rolls Royce in Derby.<\/p>\n<p>During his 43-year career at JCB David has held a variety of senior roles, including managing director of JCB Sales\/Service, JCB Agriculture, JCB\u2019s Backhoe Loader and Telescopic Handler Business Units and Group HR Director. He is also a seasoned traveler and lived and worked in North America for three years.<\/p>\n<p>Another string to David\u2019s bow is the JCB Academy, where he has been involved since its conception and currently holds the position as chairman of governors.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010,\u00a0David became JCB\u2019s chief corporate development officer focussing on growth in Brazil, China and latterly in Jaipur India.<\/p>\n<p>He was Regional Chairman for the CBI in the East Midlands, and has recently stepped down as a National Apprentice Ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>On his new role at the CEA, David said, \u201cThe construction equipment industry is vitally important to the UK economy and I strongly believe it has a very bright future. The CEA is the voice of our industry and having spent my entire working life over 40 years working in different roles at JCB, I have a good understanding of the issues that everyone is facing. I\u2019m really looking forward to championing the interests of the industry on behalf of the CEA at the highest level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rob Oliver CEA chief executive said, \u201cDavid has been a well-known leader in the construction equipment industry for many years. His scope of experience and continuing enthusiasm for our sector is outstanding. I am thrilled that he has agreed to be our figurehead as our first ever Honorary President.
