Manitou highlights new MT420H buggy

A major draw on the Manitou stand at Plantworx was the small MT420H Buggy telescopic handler. This new ultra-compact machine is the baby brother to the extremely popular Manitou MT625 and the considerable interest in it at the show augers well for it becoming another high volume seller in this country.
On the new MT420H Buggy, Manitou has cleverly utilised the same size spacious cab and controls as found on the bigger MT625 whilst providing a physically smaller machine with an even tighter tuning circle (less than 3.0m turning radius). The new MT420H provides a maximum lift capacity of 2,000kg and a maximum lift height of 4.3m. The useful load chart also allows 800kg to be extended out to the maximum forward reach of 2.60m.

Complete with a very controllable two-speed hydrostatic transmission, the rough terrain MT420H Buggy is powered by a popular 36.5kW (49hp) Kubota four-cylinder diesel engine that is Stage IIIA emissions compliant without the need for a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) or the use of a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) such as AdBlue. The machine also scores by being only 1.9m high (when fitted with compact beacon) and its narrow width of 1.49m, combined with three-mode steering (including crab steer), allows it to be driven into very confined spaces.
The MT420H comes complete with 4WD, Manitou’s popular JSM joystick control, and the latest Manitou EN15000 compliant LMI (Load Moment Indicator) with new Active Mode Regulation. The stylish design incorporates a very low boom pivot point to provide excellent all round visibility from the comfortable cloth covered seat.

Other good features of the MT420H Buggy include fast start-up (only 10 seconds from start to drive), one double-acting hydraulic service up the boom as standard (with a second as an option), well-protected hydraulic pipework and four purpose-designed tie-down points (two at the front and two at the rear). Air conditioning is available as an option.
Daily checks are easily carried out by raising the lockable top-hinged bonnet on the offside of the machine. This provides very good access to the engine dipstick, air filter, hydraulic oil filter and coolant top-up.
By simply removing a lower panel and swinging out the cooler pack, greater service access is obtained to items such as the starter motor and the hydraulic and hydrostatic pumps. Both the top bonnet and the lower panel are made from durable RIM flex injection mouldings.
Hydraulic fan drive comes as standard on the MT420H Buggy whilst a reversible fan is available for use in particularly dusty applications. Another option for the new ultra-compact telehandler is Manitou’s Easy Manager telematics system that provides invaluable location, operational and management data.
