More New Machines Than Ever at Doosan Quarry Days

Customers from all around Europe visiting the annual Doosan Quarry Days event that took place from 17-19th September 2019 in the Belice Quarry near Prague in the Czech Republic, had the chance to try out the widest range of new Doosan products ever at the event.

Making their first appearance were Doosan’s new Stage V ‘-7’ medium crawler excavators, the new DA30-7 30 tonne articulated dump truck (ADT), the new DX250WMH-5 25 tonne material handler and the new DX27z, DX35z, DX63-3 and DX85R-3 Stage V mini-excavators.

Attendees were also able to see the very latest from Doosan Smart Solutions. To meet high demand for the increased efficiency offered by machine guidance systems, Doosan Smart solutions is now offering new Leica, Trimble and Xsite Ready Kits for the Doosan wheeled and crawler excavators from 14 to 30 tonne. Doosan Smart Solutions also provides factory-installed options for the increased flexibility offered by Engcon and SVAB/Steelwrist tiltrotator systems for the Doosan excavator range.

These products were among around 30 Doosan machines available to try out at Quarry Days, which provided customers with a unique platform to test the latest Doosan excavators, wheel loaders and ADTs in the working conditions of the Belice quarry. As in previous years, customers had complete freedom to operate the full range of Doosan machines themselves and to have the assistance and advice provided by the many Doosan product experts in attendance.

Charlie Park (CEO, Doosan Infracore Europe) commented: “Doosan is expecting another successful year in terms of sales growth and Quarry Days will certainly provide ample opportunity for around 400 customers to complete business transactions by trialling our expanding range of products and new technologies.”

Quarry Days meets requests from dealers and customers for hands-on testing of the latest machines in true working environments. As a precursor to agreeing current and future purchase deals, this provides advantages for Doosan dealers and helps to strengthen customer relationships.

Unlike many manufacturers, where customers are only allowed to view companies’ staged demonstrations of machines, Doosan has listened to customer requests with the Quarry Days programme. The event is designed to provide them with the best possible experience, backed by support, expertise and consultation provided by Doosan demonstrators, trainers and product managers.

New Products at Quarry Days

The new Doosan DX300LC-7 30 tonne model is the company’s first Stage V medium size crawler excavator. This new ‘-7’ model offers an unmatched combination of high performance, operating features, fuel efficiency, reliability and durability in this excavator class.

The DX300LC-7 builds on the very successful design of the previous Stage IV machine. It introduces major enhancements in operator comfort, machine controllability, productivity, uptime and return on investment, with a strong focus on low fuel consumption, increased power, robustness and versatility. To meet Stage V engine emission regulations, the new DX300LC-7 excavator is powered by the latest generation Doosan DL08 diesel engine, providing 202 kW of power at 1800 RPM.

The DL08 engine offers a new solution to exceed Stage V regulations without exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), that boosts the quantity of air available during combustion, increasing the temperature of the process and greatly reducing the amount of particulates produced. This is combined with super-efficient DOC/DPF+SCR after-treatment technology to ensure minimal emissions.

Many New Features Incorporated

Doosan has also launched the new DA30-7 Stage V compliant ADT, which replaces the previous DA30-5 Stage IV model. The DA30-7 has a payload of 28 tonne and is powered by the new Scania Stage V compliant DC09 9 litre diesel engine providing 276 kW (375 HP) of power.

In 2018, the DA30-5 was upgraded with a range of features including a new cab, a new self-levelling front suspension and a new tandem bogie system which are all incorporated in the new Stage V model. The cab on the DA30-7 has new comfortable hand grips and foot rests and an improved layout for the display which will be easier to use even for tired eyes.

As well as these changes, the new Stage V model offers many more features – one of the most eye-catching is a new design for the front frame and bonnet components on the trucks, created by the Doosan Design Team in accordance with the latest trends in the market. The new dynamic look given to the DA30-7 Stage V ADT reflects the high performance, power and robustness of the Doosan ADT range and aligns even more closely with the rest of the market-leading range of construction equipment from Doosan.

New DX250WMH-5 Material Handler

Doosan has launched the new DX250WMH-5 25 tonne Stage IV compliant material handler for use in the solid waste, recycling, demolition and forestry industries. Based on Doosan’s popular DX210W-5 21 tonne wheeled excavator, the new DX250WMH-5 material handler has been designed specifically for a wide range of material sorting and handling applications such as those in the scrap metal and other solid waste and recycling industries, as well as logging.

Designed to carry out the toughest tasks, the DX250WMH-5 is built with front and rear stabilizers, and a boom and arm specifically designed for material handling tasks. A standard feature is the hydraulic cab riser, which gives the operator better all-around visibility of the attachment and work area. When combined with the rear view camera display in the cab, the operator has excellent visibility of the job site. The DX250WMH-5 material handler is powered by the 6-cylinder, turbocharged Doosan DL06PA water-cooled diesel engine, providing an output (SAE J1995) of 129.4 kW (173.5 HP).

New Doosan Stage V Mini-Excavators

Doosan has enhanced the company’s range of mini-excavators with the launch of the new Stage V compliant 2.7 tonne DX27z and 3.5 tonne DX35z zero tail swing (ZTS) models. The new models provide a best-in-class mix of superb stability, smooth controllability and high digging forces, complemented by low weights for easy transportation.

As a true ZTS machine (even with the optional heavy counterweight), the DX27z offers the highest flexibility of movements when working close to walls, coupled with best-in-class 360-degree stability and a low weight for easy transportation. The DX35z is a new generation model in the popular 3.5 tonne machine class offering the additional benefits of ZTS design. This excavator provides the best possible mix of compactness, a large operating range for the workgroup, great stability and a large and comfortable operator area.

The new Stage V DX85R-3 8 tonne reduced tail swing (RTS) excavator from Doosan is powered by the Yanmar 4TNV98C Common Rail direct injection diesel engine, providing 44.3 kW of power at a rated speed of 2100 rpm. It meets Stage V emission requirements through the use of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) after-treatment technologies.

The new Stage V version of the 6 tonne DX63-3 conventional tail swing model is powered by the same Yanmar 4TNV98C diesel engine, providing a massive 22% increase in engine power over the previous generation model.

The DX63-3 and DX85R-3 mini-excavators are designed to offer maximum performance, versatility, operator comfort, durability, ease of maintenance and serviceability in their respective classes.
