JCB holds a ground-breaking event in San Antonio

JCB, the UK-based global leader in construction and agriculture equipment manufacturing, held a ground-breaking event in San Antonio for its
720,000-square-foot facility — a $500 million investment in the region. When the company announced its plans this past October, it estimated spending $265.7 million.
The new location is JCB’s second North American facility and it will manufacture JCB’s Loadall telescopic handlers and aerial access equipment, with production scheduled to start in 2026. JCB sold its first machine in North America in 1964 and this second North American facility in San Antonio is important to tap the North American market, which leads the world in purchasing construction equipment with an estimated 300,000 machines sold each year.
Key factors cited by JCB leaders in selecting San Antonio for this new manufacturing facility include its central location, proximity to the supply chain and great local workforce.
This is the largest single investment in San Antonio since Toyota opened its facility in 2006, which manufacturers the Tundra and Sequoia models.
