Finning marks Caterpillar® centenary with tech-forward line-up at Balmoral Show 2025

Finning UK & Ireland, the world’s largest dealer of Cat® equipment, parts and services, will return to the Balmoral Show from 14–17 May as it continues to celebrate Caterpillar’s 100-year anniversary.

The Finning stand, i-5, will feature a Centennial Edition Cat 444 Backhoe Loader in addition to a line-up of machines and real-time fleet monitoring tools.

As one of the UK’s largest agricultural and trade exhibitions, the Balmoral Show offers Finning a key platform to connect with customers from across Northern Ireland. The show attracts more than 110,000 visitors and over 750 exhibitors from across the farming, construction and civil engineering sectors.

This year’s Finning stand will include the Cat 444 Backhoe Loader Centennial Edition, one of just 10 units finished in a limited-run ‘Centennial Grey’ to mark 100 years since the first Cat machines were introduced in 1925. The 444 also reflects Caterpillar’s long-standing UK manufacturing presence, having been the first backhoe loader produced locally when the series launched in 1985.

In addition to the 444, Finning will be exhibiting a Cat D6 XE Dozer, the world’s first high-drive electric drive dozer offering up to 35% fuel savings, and the Cat 972 XE Wheel Loader, engineered for high-load applications, with continuously variable transmission and advanced payload control. The stand will also feature a Cat 309 CR Mini Excavator and the latest Cat 265 Compact Track Loader for extended reach loading.

Product experts will be on-hand to demonstrate how fleet management software VisionLink® can support this, with remote monitoring providing real-time insights into equipment health, fuel use and service needs across mixed fleets, as well as providing location information to bolster security.

Finning will also be discussing its rebuild and repair programme that enables customers to maximise the longevity of machines, using specialist Cat parts, or where needed to give machines a second lease of life through a complete rebuild.

In addition, Finning will highlight a Customer Value Agreement (CVA) offer for its mini excavators priced from just 99p per hour, giving customers a more predictable, cost-effective approach to servicing.

David Glenn, regional sales manager at Finning UK & Ireland, said: “The Cat 444 Centennial backhoe offers a nod to Caterpillar’s strong history, but also demonstrates the company’s intent for fuel-efficient technologies of the future. More of our customers are now turning to subscription-based maintenance and using platforms like VisionLink® to monitor machine health, fuel use and servicing needs. The Balmoral Show is a great opportunity for machine operators and owners to find out more about how this can enhance their operation and support efficiency savings.”

Visitors to the Finning stand will be able to explore the line-up, watch product demonstrations and speak with technical experts about fleet management, servicing and machine rebuild options.
