Gartell & Son completes full fleet conversion to Trimble® Earthworks

Civil engineering and groundworks contractor, Gartell & Son has completed the rollout of Trimble® Earthworks machine control platform across its entire fleet, delivering enhanced efficiency and productivity to major projects across the South West.

Trimble Earthworks has now been installed on all 11 of Gartell & Sons’ machines, representing a milestone moment in the company’s commitment to utilising innovative technology to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and quality across a diverse range of projects.

Supplied and installed by SITECH UK & Ireland, the Trimble Earthworks machine control technology gives Gartell & Son’s operators real-time data on elevation, bucket or blade depth, slope, alignment and earthmoving productivity, delivering up to 40% increase in overall site productivity.

Harry Redstone, Engineering Manager at Gartell & Son, said: “Through SITECH, we utilise a range of Trimble technology, including Trimble Earthworks machine control systems which are designed to improve precision and productivity across all types of projects, making the technology ideal for our work across ground engineering, earthworks, civil engineering, and agricultural and industrial construction. Since integrating machine control into our operations, we have been able to streamline our processes, and deliver more projects accurately and on time, to exact specifications.”

In addition to supplying and installing the new Trimble Earthworks platforms, SITECH continues to support Gartell & Son with guidance and training to ensure operators get the most from the technology on site and that data is being used accurately to enhance site processes.

Redstone added: “Beyond the technology, SITECH’s responsiveness, expertise and industry-wide support have made them a valued long-term partner to our family-run business, providing a vital link between our sites and Trimble’s technology solutions.”

Trimble Earthworks system integrates with Trimble WorksManager and Trimble WorksOS for data management and real-time progress tracking, allowing operators to streamline site operations from field to office. The platform uses intuitive Android-based software that features tailored functionality to adapt to the machine that it is integrated with including tiltrotator support for excavators and blade guidance flexibility for dozers.

Isaac Brown, Technical Sales Consultant at SITECH UK & Ireland said: “The adaptability of the Trimble Earthworks platform has been a huge asset to Gartell & Son, whose operators work across a diverse range of projects with a variety of needs and demands.

“Beyond supplying and installing the systems, SITECH supports Gartell & Son by making sure that all equipment is properly maintained and that the team receives the guidance and support that they need to maximise their performance on site. Our long-term working relationship is a testament to the value that Trimble technology can add to the business, along with the right guidance and support to enhance accuracy, efficiency and overall project delivery.”
